Being a Hindu in Bharat
Sir, – I am a hindu and have been a hindu since my birth. As I call myself a hindu, the Indian government will look me as a communalist, A Hindu in India is expected to be ashamed of his religion and not talk about it in public . He must proclaim that he is secular. He must be tolerance when hindus are attacked and Hinduism is ridiculed. Hindus believe that all the religions lead to the same truth . Some other religions proclaim their uniqueness and feel that there can be salvation only through their religion out of concern pagan hindus. Hindus accept the right to convert others, some ridicule Hindus gods and goddesses at street corner meetings and hindus do not protest. Hindus accept their faith by fair of foul means.
Governments manage hindus temples. They do not interfere in the administration of the religious places of other religious as they belong to minority religious groups. Government enact laws governing the life of hindus but minority groups are given freedom to do what they want to do.
Sri, Rama’s birthday and shri krishana’s birthday are not national holidays. The Prophet’s birthday is a national holiday. The Hindus do not mind as tolerant people. They recite ‘Iswar allah tere naam’ and no one else does.
Ambedkar ridiculed and abused Hindus and Hinduism .As tolerant Hindus , we love him, adore him, Alladi Krishanswami Iyer ,B.N ,rao , and others also contributed a great deal towards the drafting of the Indians constitution. We have forgotten them as they were foolish enough not to criticize hindus and Hinduism.
Hindus adore Max Mueller for his translation of religious works into English. Some call him as Rishi. We forgive him for his views on Hindu and HINDUISM. He translated hindus religious works to prove that Christianity is superior to Hnduism. In 1886, Max Muller wrote to his wife.. “ I hope I shall finish the work , and I feel convinced through I shall not live to see it , yet this edition of mine and the translation of Vedas will here after tell to a great extent on the fate of India and the growth of millions of souls in that country. It is root of their religions to show them what the root is , I feel sure , is the only way of uprooting all that has sprung from it during the last three thousand years.” He wrote to the secretary of state for INDIA that “ the ancient religions of india is doomed , and if christanity does not step in , whose fault will it be .” as true Hindus , we forgot his motives and values him for his work.
I am distressed at the way Hindus are treated by every government. Our governments are more interested in the minorities than in the majority community. Hindus are taken for granted. Their tolerance is mistaken for weakness.
In the name of secularism, governments trample on the feeling of Hindus. The present tensions in the countries are due to one – sided policy of the government. Governments are the united in dividing people on their religion. The british divided and ruled. The british has left us; their legacy remains.
